The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Mumbai held its convocation ceremony for graduates of the 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in Jewellery Management programme today at the Institute’ auditorium, in which graduates of three batches were conferred with diplomas. Dr. Saumya Badgayan, Vice President-HR & IR graced the occasion as Chief Guest and presented trophies and certificates to the graduates. Ms. Dolly Choudhary, Director, Marketing & Promotions, GJEPC, was Guest of Honour. Chairman of IIGJ Mumbai, Mr. Milan Chokshi and Ms. Nirupa Bhatt, Advisor, Gem & Jewellery industry were also present along with Mr. Bharat Vaswani , Head of Institute, IIGJ Mumbai.

Mr. Vasant Mehta, former Chairman of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council and founder Director and former Chairman of Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery, Mumbai is elected as Chairman of the Board of IIGJ Mumbai. He has taken charge from Mr. Kirit Bhansali, who served as Chairman from 2016 to 2022. The ceremony at IIGJ, was attended by Mr. Vipul Shah and Mr. Kirit Bhansali to formally welcome the new chairman of IGJ Mumbai.

Each year the Glimpz exhibition showcases brilliant, trendsetting designs created by graduating students of the prestigious institution. Each design on display not only undergoes a rigorous process of evaluation by in-house faculty but is also assessed by renowned industry experts.

Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ), Mumbai held the Glimpz exhibition of jewellery created by the graduating batch 2019 to 2022 at the Andheri campus from 7th to 9th July. The event culminated with an award ceremony held on the final day.

Glimpz, the annual jewellery exhibition by graduating students of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai, was inaugurated on 25^th September 2021 at the Andheri campus. The theme of Glimpz 21 was “India…Enticing Land of Wonders”, based on the unique crafts and architecture exclusive to each Indian state and its ethos, the institute said.

The new centre has 14 courses with their duration ranging from 120 hours to 540 hours. The courses are aimed at enhancing the skills of those who are already in the industry as well as for the freshers,” IIGJ Chairman Kirit Bhansal told here.

Apr 16, 2017 Reports state that to give India an edge as a preferred source for quality gems and jewellery, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), Mumbai, under the Union ministry of commerce is setting up Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery (IIGJ) at Udupi.

The Gems and Jewellery Promotion Council (GJEPC) is teaming up with the commerce ministry to set up a gold craft and design institute at Udupi in Karnataka in an effort to reskill local freelance artisans.
