28.12.2019, New Delhi: The 10-day training programme (Duration 17.12.2019-28.12.2019) was held at IIGJ Delhi premises at Jhandewalan with the objective of providing basic knowledge about various gems and jewellery products. The programme covered an introduction to Navratna, identification of gemstones, practicals on gemstones identification, identification of diamonds, introduction to 4 C’s in diamonds, practicals on diamond grading, introduction to hallmarking system in gold jewellery, different types of gold karatage and its alloys. The programme was well-appreciated by the officials who attended this course, showing a keen interest to pursue a full training programme in Gemology. Mr Manish Kumar, Commissioner, Customs, Airport & General, was the Chief Guest for the certificate ceremony held on 28.12.2019. Dr. Rajendra Bhola, Chairman, IIGJ Delhi congratulated the successful participants of this course and assured full support from IIGJ Delhi for organizing such programmes for the benefit of the Customs Department and gems and jewellery industry.
