IIGJ launched its Training & Skilling Center in Guwahati with the exchange of an MoU between North-Eastern Handlooms and Handicrafts Development Corporation (NEHHDC) and GJEPC on 23rd September 2024. The event was attended by notable officials, including Shri Debasish Biswas, CEO, IIGJ, Shri Siddharth Himmatsinghka, COO, GJEPC, Shri Kaushik Ghosh, Regional Director, GJEPC Eastern Region, Shri Koushik SV, Head of IIGJ Udupi, Shri Lokesh Kumar Parganiha, Deputy Director and HoD, MSME-DFO, Guwahati, and Shri Palash Bhowmick, Chief Manager, NSIC. Additionally, Shri Santanu Deka and Shri Bhaskar Kakoty from the IIE were also present at the ceremony. Primarily aimed at implementing the PM Vishwakarma (Sunar) initiative in the North-East. The collaboration will provide specialised training and support to local jewellery artisans, creating new opportunities for growth.
