Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (Andheri E) Mumbai, was established in the year 2003 through ‘Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council’ Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for providing most up-to-date training in all the field of Jewellery Sector on its modern State-of-the-art equipments.

On 10th February the Institute was recognized by the Government of Maharashtra, as a ‘Vocational Training Provider’ (VTP) and was assigned the Registration No. 2723003 in the Sector of ‘Gem & Jewellery’ under ‘Skill Development Initiative Scheme at MES Cell of the ‘Directorate of Vocational Education & Training’, Mumbai.

Under its new status the Institute will further expand its educational activity by training students from various vocational institutions in Maharashtra State.
